Priorities

Being supportive, responsive, inclusive with the entire community

Steve Johnson, a life-long Bonner County resident, educator, administrator and business person, believes in planned growth, conservative fiscal policy and a strong work ethic. He’s a proven good listener and pledges to treat everyone with respect. Steve has come to know what matters to Bonner County residents. He cares deeply about this community and is ready to serve. Working together with Bonner County residents, some of the issues he will tackle right away are:

Dropping the lawsuit against the City of Sandpoint and the Festival

Stop supporting out-of-town lawyers and start supporting our community with our taxpayer dollars.

Supporting local groups and activities to bring community together

County Commissioners are decision makers who exert tremendous influence. When they make statements individually or collectively that support other groups it helps bring our community together. Supporting Panhandle Health District, City governments, education and a host of other groups reaffirms that most important concept, “We’re all in this together.”

Being a responsible leader concerning the health and safety of Bonner County residents

This COVID-19 virus is serious and deadly. We need to follow the guidance and advice of medical experts and scientists.

Leading with tolerance and inclusivity for a cohesive community

We need community leaders who will listen to all citizens and respect all input.
